BriskCalc Editorial Policy: Sources & Review

BriskCalc aims to make every formula, assumption and changeable figure understandable and traceable.

Primary sources first

For tax figures we prefer the IRS, Social Security Administration and other responsible government agencies. For marketplace fees we prefer the current Amazon or Etsy seller documentation. Secondary sources may provide context but do not override a responsible primary source.

Calculator review

  • Identify the inputs, units and formula or decision rules.
  • Test normal values, zero values, boundaries and invalid inputs.
  • Label estimates and approximations.
  • Record a review date for changeable external figures.
  • Link to the responsible source where practical.

Health, tax and financial topics

These pages provide general educational estimates and do not replace a qualified professional who can evaluate an individual situation. We avoid guarantees, diagnoses and individualized financial recommendations.

AI-assisted work

Automation may assist research organization, drafting or code checks, but a page should not be published solely because generated text looks plausible. Changeable facts and calculation logic require human review against source material.

Commercial independence

Advertising and affiliate relationships do not determine formulas, rankings or conclusions. Paid placements must be clearly labeled. See the advertising disclosure.

Corrections

Substantive calculation or factual errors are reviewed promptly. See our corrections policy or submit details through the contact form.
