How Dynasty Trade Values Work

  • Age is everything: a 23-year-old WR with the same production as a 29-year-old is worth 30–40% more in dynasty — you're buying career years, not just this season
  • Positional scarcity: elite TEs (Bowers, McBride) carry a premium because the drop-off after the top tier is steep; QBs are devalued in 1-QB leagues, premium in Superflex
  • Rookie picks are lottery tickets: an early projected 1st is worth roughly a top-24 veteran; value swings wildly with projected draft position
  • Consolidation tax: in a 2-for-1, the side getting the best player usually wins — roster spots have value, so the "2" side should get a volume discount built in

The 5 Rules of Winning Dynasty Trades

  1. Trade veterans when contending, picks when rebuilding — holding both means you're stuck in the middle, the worst dynasty outcome
  2. Sell RBs at 26, not 28 — running back value falls off a cliff; the market always reacts one season too late
  3. Buy injured stars in October–November — dynasty is a multi-year game; a torn ACL discounts a 24-year-old WR 30% for a 6-month wait
  4. Never grade trades weekly — judge by value acquired, not by who scored more this Sunday
  5. Shop every player — the manager who makes 20 offers closes the 3 lopsided deals the league never saw coming

FAQ

Where do these values come from?
They're a simplified 0–100 scale based on 2026 preseason consensus dynasty rankings (age, production, draft capital, situation). Real-time community values shift weekly — cross-check big trades against KeepTradeCut or FantasyPros dynasty rankings before accepting.

Should I include draft picks in trades?
Yes — picks are the currency of rebuilding teams. A projected early 1st is worth roughly a top-24 startup pick; late 1sts are worth about 60% of that. Future-year picks trade at a 10–15% discount per year out.

Does scoring format matter?
Hugely. These values assume 1-QB PPR. In Superflex, quarterbacks gain 15–25 points of value; in half-PPR, target-heavy WRs drop slightly and workhorse RBs rise.
